6 Best Alternatives to the YimSting 1200D Pontoon Boat Cover (2026)
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links on this page are affiliate links.
The yimsting 1200d pontoon boat cover alternatives list helps you find other options if this specific model does not fit your needs. The original cover uses 1200D marine-grade Oxford fabric with a 9600 Pa waterproof rating. It includes two adjustable support poles and six straps to prevent water pooling. The elastic hem and fourteen tie-down straps provide wind resistance for boats up to 102 inches wide. These specs make it ideal for storage and mooring in heavy rain.
You might want a different product if you need shade instead of full coverage, or if your pontoon is outside the 17-20ft length range. Some buyers prefer a lighter frame or a different material weight for easier handling. The alternatives on this list were chosen because their specifications overlap with the original. This includes similar boat types like pontoon boats and pedal boats. You can compare fabric weights, dimensions, and included accessories to find the best match for your vessel.
Our top pick: YimSting 1200D 17-20ft Pontoon Boat Cover.
How the alternatives differ
TaylorMade 74-Inch Pontoon Boat Bow Enclosure
The TaylorMade Pontoon Bow Enclosure covers only the front section of your vessel, unlike the YimSting full-boat cover. It measures 74 inches in length and weighs just 11 pounds. This unit provides shade and privacy for the bow area without protecting the seating or rear deck. It is ideal for stationary boats where you need localized sun protection rather than all-weather storage security. You sacrifice full hull coverage for easier setup and lower weight. Choose this if you primarily want to shield the steering area from direct sunlight while keeping the rest of the boat open.
Cypress Rowe Outfitters Big Daddy 10x8.5 ft Bimini Kit
The Cypress Rowe Big Daddy Bimini Kit offers 120 inches by 102 inches of shade, covering a much larger surface area than the YimSting cover’s footprint. It is designed for active use rather than storage. The black canvas provides robust UV protection for plush seats and complex deck layouts. Unlike the YimSting, which uses 1200D Oxford fabric for waterproofing, this kit focuses on structural shade with adjustable poles. It is heavier and less portable. Pick this alternative if you need durable, flexible shading for pontoon boats with intricate seating arrangements and prioritize active sun protection over rain shedding during storage.
Cypress Rowe Outfitters 8 ft Bimini Top Kit
The Cypress Rowe 8 ft Bimini Top Kit provides 9 feet of length and 8 feet of width. It weighs 76 pounds, making it significantly heavier than the YimSting cover. This model features a heavy-duty frame and a lifetime warranty, prioritizing long-term durability over lightweight portability. It is designed for standard-width pontoon boats requiring shade. The YimSting cover is built for 17-20ft boats with waterproof Oxford fabric. This alternative gives up waterproof storage capabilities for a sturdy, permanent-looking shade structure. Choose this if you want a robust, warranty-backed shade solution for a standard-width pontoon rather than a full protective cover.
STOPBYUS Hobie Mirage Passport 12.0 Boat Cover
The STOPBYUS Hobie Mirage Passport Cover is tailored specifically for the Hobie Mirage Passport 12.0 kayak. It uses 7.6oz Solution Dyed Polyester, which is far lighter and more breathable than the YimSting’s 1200D marine-grade Oxford fabric. This cover weighs only 4 pounds and is designed for trailering protection rather than long-term stationary storage. It offers a precise fit for a single kayak, unlike the YimSting’s broad coverage for pontoons. Select this option if you own a Hobie Mirage Passport and need durable, breathable protection for transport. You trade the heavy-duty weather resistance of the pontoon cover for a specialized, lightweight fit.
Premium Waterproof Pedal Boat Cover
The Generic Premium Waterproof Pedal Boat Cover is sized for smaller pedal boats, measuring 9.38 feet by 4 feet. It supports up to five people and uses a basic drawstring closure. This cover is designed for waterproof storage of small pedal craft, not pontoons. It lacks the heavy-duty elastic hems and tie-down straps found on the YimSting cover. The material is not specified as 1200D Oxford, offering basic durability rather than premium weather resistance. Choose this if you need affordable, reliable protection for a small pedal boat. You give up the specialized windproofing and support poles of the YimSting for a simple, cost-effective solution for smaller watercraft.
STOPBYUS Hobie Mirage Outback 7.6oz Cover
The STOPBYUS Hobie Mirage Outback Cover is made from 7.6oz Solution Dyed Polyester, providing breathable protection for specific Hobie models. It weighs 4 pounds and is designed for trailering and active use. This contrasts with the YimSting’s 1200D Oxford fabric, which is built for heavy rain and wind resistance. The STOPBYUS cover offers a tailored fit for 2017-2020 Mirage Outback models. It sacrifices the all-weather durability and support poles of the YimSting for a lighter, more breathable option. Pick this alternative if you need durable, breathable protection for your Hobie kayak and do not require the heavy-duty waterproofing of a pontoon cover.
